Answer: The First Article Inspection (FAI) is a planned, complete, independent, and documented inspection and verification process to ensure that prescribed production processes have produced an item conforming to engineering drawings, DPD, planning, purchase order, engineering specifications, and/or other applicable design documents.

Answer: The primary purpose of FAI is to validate that product realization processes are capable of producing parts and assemblies that meet engineering and design requirements. A well-planned and executed FAI will provide objective evidence the manufacturer’s processes can produce compliant product and that they have understood and incorporated associated requirements

Answer: Verify’s FAI Application is not a company, it is a web-based software application owned by Verify Inc., a Global Supplier Performance Management Services Company, with their corporate offices located in Irvine, CA. The FAI Services are run out of our Irving, Texas office.

Answer: Only your Setup Admin can add and remove suppliers. See the Training guides for Adding / removing suppliers. If you are new to Verify’s FAI Application, the support desk will assist with this activity initially.

Answer: Verify’s FAI Application is fully compliant to the industry standard AS9102 Rev B. Verify’s FAI Application has built in error checking to ensure your FAI is compliant to the AS9102 Standard as well as customer requirements.

Answer: Shortly after the release of AS9102 N/C in January of 2000. Companies began to use web based Digital FAIrs. Digital FAIRs are authorized by AS9102 and offer a structured and secure approach to the FAIR lifecycle.

Answer: Multi Factor Authentication will enhance your organization’s security by requiring your users to identify themselves by more than a username and password. While important, usernames and passwords are vulnerable to brute force attacks and can be stolen by third parties. Multi Factor authentication greatly reduces this risk.

Answer: The documentation uploads and downloads require multi-factor authentication, the cloud storage provided by Virtru, is FEDRAMP Moderate Certified.

Answer: Each company will have a Verify’s FAI Application administrator that controls user accounts for their employer, as setup admin they can add new company users in the user management section of their account (refer to user guides).

Answer: The revision C forms will be released when AS9102 Revision C is released. The “Planning function of the Verify’s FAI Application application is compliant to Rev C.

Answer: You can print your FAI forms using the “Print” Button in the top right-hand corner of the FAI Forms 1, 2 & 3.

Answer: You customer, or an authorized representative of your customer is approving or disapproving your FAI. The Verify’s FAI Application application Creates, gathers information, and stores your documentation and data. The approvals are performed by your customer representative.

Answer: in the three AS9102 Forms in the Verify’s FAI Application application, hover your mouse over each field and the AS9102 Rev B form field instructions will appear. Alternatively you can go to the IAQG website and view the AS9102 FAQs (https://iaqg.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/9102-FAQ.pdf). If you desire AS9102 Training for your staff, contact the support desk through the 1-800 Number and select option 1.
